The Next Exit

It’s sad for me to see the old house today as it stands.The house that built me has seen better days and will soon be gone.The green grass has gone to weed and my favorite climbing tree is gone.In the house, I can still see the old layers of the wallpaper breaking through the new, tearing away from the old molded trim that is barely holding it up. So much evil, but yet so much sadness in those walls… it takes me back to a time that I yearn to remember but yet I so desperately want to forget.The honeysuckle in the air reminds me of summer days long ago. The smell makes my heart smile and at the same time cry out. Looking at the property now makes me realize how much things do and will change. For better or worse. Walls and floors may crumble but the memories there will haunt me forever. Read more
